NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE

We understand health and safety are currently front of mind for all our patients, doctors, staff and visitors at this time. Please be assured that this is our top priority and we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and undertaking active precautions to ensure the most effective protection for our patients and practice personnel during this difficult and challenging period.

Eastern Suburbs Dermatology (“ESD”) deemed an essential service provider will remain open until further notice from the government.

Our business continuity precautions and controls are guided by the Government, health authorities such as the World Health Organisation and the Department of Health. These authorities guide our plans for the rapidly changing conditions and restrictions in Australia.

Following recent government announcements, we have enacted our full business continuity plan.

ENHANCED PERSONAL HYGIENE, INCREASED CLEANING, AND SANITISATION THROUGHOUT OUR PRACTICE

We have added extra cleaning & sanitisation to high contact areas of the practice, including reception, waiting room, treatment, and consultation rooms. The disinfectants and sanitisers we use at ESD have all been confirmed hospital grade and proven to kill a broad range of bacteria and viruses.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES

  • Please do not attend the practice if:
    • you are unwell or have flu-like symptoms
    • you have been overseas, Victoria, any venues or locations where COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the past 14 days
    • you have been instructed to self isolate in the past 14 days or
    • had contact with someone diagnosed with or suspected of having coronavirus in the past 14 days
  • Wash and sanitise your hands regularly and before you enter the practice
  • Cover coughs or sneezes with your elbow, not your hands
  • Refrain from touching your face unless your hands have been sanitised

FACE MASK

Patients are requested to wear a face mask when they visit our practice. Wearing a face mask can help protect patients, staff and other visitors where physical distancing is sometimes not possible.

Our dermatologists and medical staff may refuse to see patients or provide treatment to patients who do not comply with this request.

MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING

The Department of Health recommends washing hands regularly, using hand sanitiser and keeping a safe distance as the most effective way of protecting yourself and others. We have added signs in our practice (reception, waiting room and treatment room in particular) to help you abide by the social distancing requirements (1.5 metres), which is the distance you should keep from other patients and our practice personnel.

Please queue at the marked signs in front of the reception and do not sit where signposted to maintain social distancing.

LESS CONTACT AT THE RECEPTION

When paying, we request card payments instead of cash and we encourage you to use “tap and go” to finalise the payment to reduce as much contact as possible.

PRE-CONSULT HEALTH SCREENING AND APPOINTMENT RESCHEDULING

You may be asked by the doctor or staff a few questions in relation to your recent travel history or general health for pre-consult screening.

Please kindly advise us if you have:

  • travelled internationally or returned from Victoria where COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the last 14 days;
  • been on any international cruise in the last 14 days;
  • been in close contact with someone who has visited venues or locations within Australia where COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the last 14 days;
  • feeling unwell; or
  • been in close contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case.

Your appointment will be rescheduled at your earliest convenience.

  • When receiving SMS appointment reminders, please kindly advise if any of the above applies and ring us to reschedule your appointment.

Thank you for your cooperation and stay well.
